Trends in the Life of our Parish 2017

Upcoming are special parish life events and other opportunities for worship and fellowship.

Sunday, September 17 and thereafter, YOUTH GROUP: 9-9:50AM: The Sunday after Rally Day, we will resume our 9 am Youth Group meetings. Each week after a check-in, we will watch a short “NOOMA” video, which ranges in topics from the Hebrew Bible to current events. (See the explanation about NOOMA here) Then we’ll talk about it. Since the video will be the topic of our conversation, please be there on time! 9am is the check-in time, with the video showing at 9:15, so we can be done by 9:50 to vest as acolytes/etc.

Tuesday, September 19, Tour of Historic Saint Peter’s Church, Ashtabula, Ohio. Departure from Saint Martin’s at 11:45 a.m. See events drop down.

Fall 2017 – Winter/Spring 2018 Foyer Groups meet (sign up in the Burroughs Room or see Jane Albert)

Fall 2017 Sunday Midhour Forum at 9 a.m. Coffee and conversation on scripture and contemporary topics, meets in the parish library.

Fall 2017 Men’s Wednesday Study Group at 7 a.m. Coffee and donuts and study of a book of the bible, meets in the parish library.

Fall 2017 Celebration of New Ministry for our rector The Reverend Dr. John A. Cerrato, the date to be announced.

Fall 2017 NAMI Support Group each Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. meets in the choir room and Poetry Group monthly as scheduled.

Fall 2017 Wednesday Night AA Group meets at 7:30 p.m. in the undercroft hall. Open to the public.

October 1, Sunday, Congregational Meeting in the Burroughs Room after the 10 a.m. service of Holy Eucharist.

October 6-8, Friday-Sunday, DIOCESAN YOUTH EVENT at Saint Martin’s. Saint Martin’s will be hosting the fall Diocesan Youth Event on October 6-8 (Friday evening—Sunday morning). We’ll have 30 youth from all throughout the diocese coming to do activities (there’s rumor of a professional escape room), service projects, fellowship, and worship. Bring your friends— they don’t have to be Episcopalian/Christian/religious at all!  Knowing how crazy fall schedules are, you have permission to leave and return for your various sports-ball events. So if you have an excuse of a game/practice/etc, you may leave and come back. See events drop down.

October 8, Sunday, Blessing of Animals after the 10 a.m. service in the courtyard. See events drop down.

October 15, Sunday, Road Rally for parishioners and friends of Saint Martin’s, starting at 2 p.m. See events drop down.

October 18 through December 6, Wednesdays, Fellowship Dinner and Fall Teaching Series, followed by Evening Prayer/Eucharist. Community dinner at 6:15 p.m. followed by a series on the life and faith of The Early Church, led by our rector, and Evening Prayer/Eucharist. (Seven weeks but does not meet Wednesday, November 22). See events drop down.

November 10-11, Annual Convention of the Diocese of Ohio in Cleveland, celebrating 200 years of Episcopal Ministry in Ohio.

Sunday, November 12, Stewardship Sunday and pledge ingathering.

November (TBA), Progressive Grazing Party (date to be announced).
